Thornton Township celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

SOUTH HOLLAND, Ill. (September 23, 2017) – The doors open at 10:00am, and the Human Relations Commission of Thornton Township is asking guests to “please be on time” for Saturday’s Hispanic Heritage celebration. The celebration is an opportunity to learn about Hispanic culture, history, music, dance, and food.

Radio host Oscar M. Canales will serve as Master of Ceremonies, guiding guests through a program that includes Mexican Folklore Dancers, Magician Ken Mate, the Marimba Ensemble from Holy Cross Immaculate Heart of Mary, and Guest Speaker Dr. Richard Rucoba.

The event will be catered by Pollo Locuas (Blue Island) and La Rosa Bakery (Lansing).
