Halloween weekend events

information provided by St. Ann Catholic Parish

LANSING, Ill. (October 2017) – St. Ann Catholic Parish has planned two events for Halloween weekend, both family-friendly.

On Saturday

The eighth annual Copper Muggers Halloween Breakfast is scheduled for Saturday, October 28, 8:00–11:00am, at TF South. The community is welcome to enjoy breakfast in costume, and then participate in Lansing’s Annual Halloween Parade, for which line-up begins at 9:30am in Kilroy’s parking lot (3502 Ridge Road). Costume prizes will be awarded, and all participating children will receive a candy bag.

Tickets for the breakfast are available at the door for $5.00, or $3.00 for children under 5. TF South is located at 18500 Burnham Avenue in Lansing,

On Sunday

St. Ann is also providing a safe Halloween “trunk-or-treating” experience for families on Sunday, October 29, 2:00–4:00pm, in the St. Ann parking lot.

Adults are invited to decorate the trunks of their cars, trucks, or vans, in keeping with a chosen theme. St. Ann offers the following theme ideas:

  • Christmas in October
  • Hawaiian Luau
  • Under the Sea
  • Sports
  • Camping
  • On the Farm
  • Sesame Street
  • Superheroes
  • Disney
  • Video Games
  • Science Fiction
  • Children’s Literature

The decorated vehicles will be lined up in the parking lot, so children can go trunk-to-trunk collecting candy. St. Ann estimates 100 children will be trunk-or-treating, and participating adults are asked to bring appropriate quantities of treats. Prizes will be awarded for “Best Trunk” and “Best Dressed.”

Participating cars are asked to register online (link) ahead of time, so event organizers can plot out the parking lot. Vehicle registration deadline is October 27, and cars will need to arrive for setup by 1:00pm on October 29.

St. Ann’s Trunk-or-Treat event will also involve games, music, and refreshments.

Candy donations from the community are welcome. Donated candy should be clearly marked “Trunk-or-Treat” and brought to the school or parish offices by October 27.

St. Ann Catholic Parish is located at 3014 Ridge Road in Lansing. For more information, contact Alex Correa at 708-975-5158.
