by Melanie Jongsma

LANSING, Ill. (March 21, 2018) – As reported earlier, at their February 14 meeting, Lansing’s Planning and Zoning Board reached a unanimous decision to recommend that the Village Board deny a special use permit for Lily’s Hot Stone Massage, Inc.

Planning and Zoning had included in their meeting minutes a variety of reasons for the denial. At the March 6 Committee of the Whole meeting, the Village Board expressed appreciation for the research the Planning and Zoning Board had done.

The request was included on the March 20 Village Board meeting agenda, and the Board unanimously voted to accept the Planning and Zoning Board’s recommendation to deny the request for a special use permit.

  1. Dear Editor,
When I read about the responsible decision by the Village Board to deny the special use permit described in today’s newspaper, I want to give thanks to The Lansing Journal for informing residents about what could have happened in our village and didn’t. We just avoided a train wreck.
