LANSING, Ill. (June 21, 2018) – On June 16, 2018, at approximately 1:00pm, the Lansing Police Department responded to the 17300 block of Community for a report of an armed robbery.
Officers met with a 24-year-old victim from Chicago who reported that he had made arrangements with a subject through “Let Go” to purchase two jet skis. The exchange was set to take place in Lansing. Our victim arrived at the location and met with the homeowner who advised the jet skis were his and not for sale. Two other subjects were in the area and also claimed ownership of the jet skis.
The victim felt something was wrong and attempted to leave the area. That is when one offender displayed a handgun and demanded money. The victim gave the offender an undetermined amount of money and the two offenders fled on foot.
Suspect number one was described as an African American male in his twenties, 6’00”, 180–190 pounds, with a long black afro hair style.
Suspect number two was also described as an African American male in his twenties. He was 5’10”, 170 pounds, and had black dreadlocks.
