LANSING, Ill. (June 29, 2018) – The second film of the Lan-Oak Park District’s series of outdoor movies—Wonder Woman, at Lions Park—will be rescheduled. Senior Superintendent Sharon Desjardins said, “The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Heat WARNING (the watch expired and was upgraded) through Saturday at 7:00pm. They are predicting temperatures to feel like 105–110 degrees with very high humidity. They have advised that everyone—particularly small children and the elderly—stay indoors. We have cancelled due to that warning.”

The Lions Park movie is being rescheduled for August 10. The neighborhood party—with music, a bounce house, a caricature artist, a video game truck, and refreshments for purchase—will start at 6:30pm, and Wonder Woman will follow at 8:30pm.

The updated schedule of movies in Lansing parks is:

  • Friday, July 13—Coco, at Schultz Park (Schultz Drive and Ada Street)
  • Friday, July 20—Star Wars: The Last Jedi, at Rotary Park (193rd and Sherman)
  • Friday, August 3—Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, at Lan-Oak Park (180th and Arcadia)
  • Friday, August 10—Wonder Woman, at Lions Park (177th and Bernadine)
  • Friday, August 17—A Wrinkle in Time, at Potts Park (172nd West of Oakwood Avenue)
