Richton Park location will provide additional resource to business owners

CHICAGO, Ill. (September 9, 2018) – Last week the Women’s Business Development Center (WBDC), a nationally recognized leader in the field of women’s economic development, announced the opening of its south suburban office in Richton Park, Illinois, to expand its services to business owners in the southern region of Cook County.
The Illinois Small Business Development Center at the Women’s Business Development Center/South Suburbs, which officially opened earlier this month, will provide expanded services in the community, including business advising, financial workshops, and one-on-one counseling. Clients will also have access to a breadth of services provided by the WBDC, such as loan assistance, direct lending, early childhood education entrepreneurship training, access to federal innovation and research funding, Women’s Business Enterprise certification, capacity building, technical assistance, government contracting, and more.
Illinois SBDC at WBDC/South Suburbs will operate out of DBC Offices, formerly Destiny Business Centre, and will have a dedicated full-time staff member to advise all business owners.
Tasha Brown, an experienced entrepreneur with executive, government, academic, non-profit, and for-profit administration experience, will serve as the Associate Director of the Illinois SBDC at the WBDC/South Suburbs.
“We’re thrilled to continue expanding the Women’s Business Development Center’s mission of accelerating small business development and growth, and increasing their participation in, and impact on, the economy,” Brown said.
“The South Suburban office will fill a much-needed gap in the area,” said Karen Goldner, Director of the Illinois Small Business Development Center at the WBDC. “We’re the only Small Business Development Center serving southern Cook County. The nearest center to the south is in Danville, Illinois. We could not be prouder to aid these business owners in achieving success.”
