About the Lansing Police Department
The Lansing, Illinois, Police Department consists of 55 sworn officers and 19 support personnel. The Command staff consists of the Chief of Police, two Deputy Chiefs, five Lieutenants, and seven Sergeants. The Patrol Division currently works 12-hour shifts.
The officers are represented by a collective bargaining unit. They also have a generous benefit package that includes:

Eligibility requirements
A qualified applicant will:
- Be a United States citizen
- Be between the ages of 21 and 35
- Have earned a minimum of 60 college credit hours
- Possess a valid power test card
- Possess a valid driver’s license
Application packets are available September 11–October 7, 2017, at the Lansing Municipal Center (Village Hall), 3141 Ridge Road, Lansing, IL 60438. The Municipal Center is open Monday–Friday 9:00am–5:00pm, and Saturday 9:00am–12:00pm. There is a $25.00 non-refundable fee for each application packet.
