Village Board meetings are held on the first and third Tuesdays of every month at the Municipal Court Complex, 2710 170th Street. The Committee of the Whole meeting begins at 7:00pm, and typically at that meeting items are brought up for review and discussion among the Trustees. A Village Board meeting follows the Committee of the Whole meeting. At each Village Board meeting, the Trustees are voting on items that have been discussed at the Committee of the Whole meeting two weeks previous. All meetings are open to the public. Hiring Event
Mayor Eidam’s report included information from Congresswoman Robin Kelly about the fifth Hiring Event she is planning—Friday, October 27, 2017, in the South Suburban College Gymnasium.
FOP Agreement
Former Police Officer Trustee Zeldenrust presented Resolution #1019, authorizing a Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Village of Lansing and the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 218 / Illinois Fraternal Order of Police Labor Council. The agreement covers the period of May 1, 2016–April 30, 2019. The full agreement was included in the Board packets for the Trustees to review before voting, and it was approved unanimously. Solicitors in Lansing – Ordinance approved
The changes in solicitation sales licensing that were discussed at the last meeting were approved at the October 17 meeting. The updated code can be found online here:
Commission appointments
Mayor Eidam recommended the appointment of Peter Krilich to the Police & Fire Commission. Krilich is a retired member of the Lansing Police Department and Public Works Department. If Mayor Eidam’s recommendation is approved, Krilich will be the 10th appointment she has made since taking office. There is no update at this time on any appointments to the Human Relations Commission.
The next Committee of the Whole meeting and Village Board meeting are scheduled for Tuesday, November 7 at 7:00pm. Meetings are held in the Lansing Court Complex at the Police Station, 2710 170th Street in Lansing, Illinois. Agendas for these meetings are to be posted at least 48 hours prior, and they are typically found on the Village website.
