November Students of the Month

Lansing Rotary Club honors TF South students

LANSING, Ill. (November 17, 2017) – TF South High School seniors Sydney Davis and Bria Macklin were honored as the Lansing Rotary Club’s November Students of the Month. Pictured above with Principal Jake Gourley, Davis and Macklin were chosen for their accomplishments in the areas of leadership, academics, citizenship, and service. Each was presented with a Certificate of Achievement.

TF South juniors Luis Herrera and Skylar Gertonson were also recognized by the Rotary Club for their artistic achievements as part of the Hamilton Education Program. In October the duo performed a rap, which they wrote and produced, in front of an audience of approximately 1,800, including the Chicago cast of Hamilton. Their piece depicted the turning point in the Revolutionary War, when the leadership of George Washington and Alexander Hamilton prevented American soldiers from surrendering at Valley Forge. Herrera and Gertonson performed their production for the Rotarians at the November meeting.
