Park District Easter Egg Hunt, 10:00am

LANSING, Ill. (March 23, 2018) – The traditional Easter Egg Hunt returns to Lan-Oak Park on March 31, the Saturday morning before Easter. Participants will gather at the shelter at Arcadia Avenue and be organized into four age groups: 0–2, 3–5, 6–8, and 9–11. Each age group will be assigned a specific zone to hunt in.

The hunt begins at 10:00am, and park district staff offer this encouragement: “Don’t be late—the candy disappears in minutes!”

In addition to candy-filled eggs and toy-filled eggs, park district staff will hide four gold eggs, one in each age zone. The gold eggs will contain a special note. Whoever finds a gold egg should take the egg and the note to park district staff and turn them in for a special Easter prize.

Following the egg hunt, kids are invited back to the Arcadia Avenue shelter for granola bars and juice. The Easter Bunny will also be there to congratulate kids and have his photo taken with them.

Grace Church Easter Extravaganza, 11:00am

Pastor Leroy Childress invites Lansing families to continue the Saturday celebration by heading over to Grace Church at 11:00am. Their Easter Extravaganza is a free public event that explores the meaning of Easter with activities for kids up to 15 years old. In addition to another egg hunt, families can participate in face painting, pony rides, bounce houses, and crafts.

Childress offers the same encouragement that Park District staff offer: “Arrive promptly at 11:00am, so we can begin on time!”
