LANSING, Ill. (June 28, 2018) – The annual LOOP bike ride gives Lansing residents an opportunity to tour their village by bike. Check-in will begin at 6:00pm at Park Plaza on Friday, July 20.

From Park Plaza, Phase 1 begins around 7:00pm and takes about an hour to complete. Upon returning to Park Plaza, bikers will take a break and rehydrate with bottles of water. Those who choose to continue with Phase 2 will begin that route at dusk—around 8:30pm—so when they go through the Lansing Municipal Airport, the runway lights will be on. Depending on how fast people pedal, Phase 2 of the LOOP bike ride will end around 10:00pm, back at Park Plaza.

Early registration discount

The regular registration price is $40.00 per rider, but from now until July 14, bikers can register for only $30.00. Registered participants receive a goody bag and t-shirt.

Registration is available through the Lansing Area Chamber of Commerce website, or call 708-474-4170 to register by phone.

The LOOP bike ride takes place rain or shine—unless lightning is forecast. If the event is canceled due to lightning, bags and shirts reserved for paid registrants will be available for pickup, but registration refunds will not be issued. Chamber Director Amy Todd says, “Please consider any ‘loss of value’ a donation to the Chamber’s Family Giving program during the holidays.”
