Correction: Welcoming another Lansing veteran home

Steve Mayerak returns from Honor Flight on Wednesday, August 8

by Melanie Jongsma

The original version of this story incorrectly posted that Jim Mayerak would be returning from Honor Flight tonight. In fact, it is Jim’s father Steve Mayerak who is our returning veteran. The previous story has been corrected, and this story is being re-posted to ensure people know about the correction.

LANSING, Ill. (August 8, 2018) – The American Legion Riders from Edward Schultz Chapter 697 will be gathering at Sunrise Health Foods (17650 Torrence Avenue) on Wednesday, August 8, to receive Steve Mayarak, a Lansing veteran who will be returning from a day-long experience with Honor Flight Chicago.

The Lansing community is invited to join the welcome. A specific time of arrival is not known, but typical Honor Flight welcomes are around 9:00 or 9:30pm in the Sunrise parking lot. No RSVP is required. Anyone who wishes to welcome Mayerak home is invited to meet at the American Legion at 9:00pm or at Sunrise Health Foods at 9:30pm.

Steve Mayerak and his two sons own and operate Lansing Floral Shop.
