LANSING, Ill. (August 29, 2018) – Five representatives of Lansing’s government will present updates on a variety of topics at a public meeting hosted by the Lansing Public Library. The September 6 meeting will involve Mayor Patty Eidam, Village Clerk Vivian Payne, Village Administrator Dan Podgorski, Police Chief Dennis Murrin, and Director of Communications Ken Reynolds.

The five are in the process of preparing presentations that will update residents on issues of expressed concern, including street repairs, Fox Pointe plans, trees in the parkways, grants that Lansing has received, economic development, diversity and the Lansing Police Department, the role of the Human Relations Commission, solicitors in Lansing, clean-up and beautification efforts, and ongoing communication.

The presentations are anticipated to last about an hour, and then Village officials will hang around to answer questions one-on-one. This style of Q and A is expected to be more effective than a public question-and-answer session, since many residents may have questions that are specific to their own properties.

Village officials are hoping to see some new faces in the audience, and they are looking forward to engaging with residents directly.

The Lansing Public Library is located at 2750 Indiana Avenue in Lansing. The State of the Village address will take place on the top floor, on the library stage.
