LANSING, Ill. (September 12, 2018) – The Lansing library is trying something new. The “How-To Festival” this Saturday will feature 25 local experts presenting 29 different half-hour sessions at various locations throughout the library.
From 10:00am until 3:00pm, library visitors will be able to learn how to:
- Create and utilize a wet palette for hobby figures
- Hygge
- Play the ukulele
- Be well (from Aunt Martha’s Clinic)
- Make a no-sew fleece blanket
- Find relatives in the 1940 census
- Take great cell phone pictures
- Make crepes
- Make a monster bookmark
- Live healthy
- Make a duct tape wallet
- Decide whether to ignore or install computer updates
- Dress “SMART”
- Knit continental style
- Build miniature Lansing homes
- Make a task box
- Tame your email
- Braid
- Draw
- Bring the magic of story time home
- Make paper bead jewelry
- Talk like a pirate
- Illustrate
- Make a miniature book
- Use baby sign language
- Create a bullet journal
- Make a circle bird that rocks
- Make LinkedIn irresistible in 72 hours
- Understand the language of coffee and refreshments
Because this festival is a first for the library, Debbie Albrecht is unsure how many people to expect for each class. A few of the classes will be repeated throughout the five-hour festival, but most are presented just once.
