An idea for Giving Tuesday

by Melanie Jongsma, Managing Editor

LANSING, Ill. (November 26, 2018) – The Lansing Journal is not a nonprofit organization (though we are looking into the benefits and drawbacks of becoming one). Even so, if you think we provide a service that is worthy of your support, we hope you’ll make a contribution to our work in honor of Giving Tuesday.

You won’t be able to claim it as a tax deduction, but you’ll have the satisfaction of knowing you helped provide professional local news to the Lansing community.

The easiest way to give is online:

But we also accept checks made out to The Lansing Journal and mailed to our PO Box:

  • The Lansing Journal, PO Box 742, Lansing IL 60438

Advertising in The Lansing Journal is another way to support this newspaper. It’s a little more involved than simply sending a check, but we’d be happy to work through the options with you:

When you do send us a contribution, we hope you won’t mind if we list your name in our print edition. We know that public recognition is not the reason you support us, but we like to be able to express our thanks. If you do not want your name listed, just include a note with your gift letting us know you want to be anonymous, and we’ll respect your wishes.

To those of you who already support us financially and in other ways, thank you. It means a lot to know that our community believes in this newspaper and wants to see it continue.
Thank you!
