information gathered directly from school representatives or Facebook posts

LANSING, Ill. (November 26, 2018) – Due to the predicted snow and the fierce high winds on Monday, November 26, the following schools have indicated they will be closed:

  • Lansing Christian School
  • St. Ann School
  • St. John’s Lutheran School

The current rain is predicted to turn into snow between 2:00 and 3:00am, and because of the high winds, blizzard conditions are expected. The US National Weather Service says, “Winds gusting as high as 45mph will cause whiteout conditions in blowing snow. Significant drifting of the snow is likely. Total snow accumulations of 7 to 11 inches, with localized amounts up to 13 inches, are expected in DuPage and Cook Counties.”
