SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (January 11, 2019) – In his final clemency review, Governor Bruce Rauner today granted 30 clemency requests and 4 commutations. He denied 268 requests.
The backlog from previous administrations has been cleared, and there are currently no pending clemency petitions in the Office of the Governor. Each person granted clemency has recently undergone a criminal background check through the Illinois State Police’s Law Enforcement Agencies Data System.
A granted clemency request for a pardon with expungement allows the petitioner to seek expungement of their conviction through the court system.
Additional information on the granted clemency cases is available from the Prisoner Review Board, 217-782-1610.
