ALDI gives last-minute notice for one-day hiring spree

SOUTH CHICAGOLAND, Ill. (January 14, 2019) – “ALDI offers generous wages and benefits that are higher than the national average for the retail industry,” reads the email from ALDI, which also notes that ALDI was named to the Forbes list of America’s Best Large Employers for the fourth consecutive year in 2018.

Tomorrow’s hiring spree, like last year’s around this time, is part of an accelerated expansion plan to increase its store count to 2,500 and create 25,000 jobs by the end of 2022. Currently with more than 1,800 stores in 35 states, ALDI is one of the fastest growing retailers in the U.S., creating new opportunities for people locally and nationwide.

Positions available

• Manager Trainee: $54,900–$56,190 per year, depending on location ($22.25-$22.75 per hour, averaging 45 hours per week); opportunity to earn $75,000–$90,000 per year as a Store Manager
• Shift Manager: $17.60-$18.50 per hour, depending on location ($13.10-$14.00 per hour plus $4.50 per hour when performing manager duties)
• Store Associate: $13.10-$14.00 per hour, depending on location

Job requirements

• Must be 18 years or older to apply
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Must be available to work anytime between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m., Monday – Sunday
• Retail experience preferred
• Management experience preferred for Manager Trainees
• Ability to lift 45 pounds
