LANSING, Ill. (February 24, 2019) – The tenth annual Roundball Classic will come to a close this Tuesday when the Heritage Nationals face the Coolidge Cougars in the championship game.
The halftime Hot Shot contest will feature Savannah Thomas from Lansing Christian vs. Jessica Campuzano from Oak Glen.
Before any players take the court, an award ceremony for all participants will begin at 6:30pm. The ceremony will also include a presentation of the James “Ray” Shrader School Spirit/Sportsmanship Award, and an award to the school that gathered the most food items in a food drive that helps stock the shelves of the Lansing Food Pantry.
The boys championship game will begin at 7:00pm.
Donations from local businesses and individuals cover the costs of the tournament, and proceeds from ticket sales are donated to Lansing charities.
All games take place at Memorial Junior High school, 2721 Ridge Road in Lansing.
This wonderful event has now raised over $50,000 over the last decade to assist Lansing charities. What a wonderful lesson for all of our town’s 5th graders, their friends and families. Kudos to Sally Reynolds and Rick Seymour for their energies and vision in running this excellent tournament, now in its 10th season.
