SOUTH HOLLAND, Ill. (February 25, 2019) – South Suburban College is offering a wide range of scholarships based on a variety of qualifications, including academic achievement, community involvement, place of residence, program interest, and more. Last year the South Suburban College Foundation awarded over $100,000 in scholarships to students of all ages and backgrounds. The foundation has awarded over $2 million since 1989.
The primary SSC scholarship application deadline is Friday, April 5. Graduating high school seniors can continue to apply for the high school-specific scholarships through June 30, 2019. All of the scholarship awards may be used during the 2019 summer, fall, and spring 2020 spring semesters at SSC.
The application process requires a completed scholarship application, one letter of recommendation, a short essay, and a copy of the applicant’s high school or (unofficial) college transcripts. Applications can be submitted in person, via email to [email protected] or through the online application portal from www.ssc.edu/scholarships. Scholarship recipients are selected by the SSCF Scholarship Committee in April with a formal awards ceremony to be held at SSC on May 7, 2019.
Applicants should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as part of the application process to increase opportunities for funding assistance; visit www.fafsa.gov using school code 001769.
