Closing statements from the Candidate Forum

LANSING, Ill. (March 27, 2019) – Five of the six candidates running for Thornton Fractional School District 215 Board appeared at tonight’s forum hosted by the Parent Teacher Student Association at TF South High School. Videos of the closing statements by the candidates appear below in the order those statements were given at the forum:

Following their closing statements, the candidates made themselves available to residents one-on-one to answer questions and listen to concerns.

Voting opportunities

All voters will have opportunities to express their preferences about these candidates and other candidates during Early Voting at the Lansing Public Library (2750 Indiana Avenue):

  • Thursday, March 28: 9:00am–7:00pm
  • Friday, March 29: 9:00am–7:00pm
  • Saturday, March 30: 9:00am–5:00pm
  • Sunday, March 31: 10:00am–4:00pm
  • Monday, April 1: 9:00am–5:00pm

Registered voters who bring their Voter ID card can fast-track because Early Voting sites have card readers at every check-in station.

Election Day is Tuesday, April 2, and then voting is available only at assigned polling places, from 6:00am–7:00pm. There are 10 polling places in Lansing, serving 20 precincts:

  • Bethel Church (3500 Glenwood-Lansing Rd)—Precincts 5, 14, 18, and 44
  • Coolidge School (17845 Henry St)—Precincts 16 and 65
  • First Church PCA (3134 Ridge Rd)—Precincts 43, 47, and 57
  • Lansing Police Department (2710 170th)—Precinct 17
  • Lansing Presbyterian Church (2625 Ridge Rd)—Precincts 19 and 68
  • On Election Day, Lansing Public Library (2750 Indiana Ave) is the polling place for Precinct 18. It is only during Early Voting that all Lansing residents can vote at the library, regardless of precinct.
  • New Hope Church (3642 Lake St)—Precinct 51
  • Oak Glen School (2101 E. 182nd St)—Precincts 50, 114, and 117
  • Reavis School (17121 Roy St)—Precincts 13 and 61
  • St. Anthony (3025 Spring Lake Dr)—Precinct 56

Voters who have a Voter ID will see their precinct number printed on it. The Cook County website also provides easy access to polling information—voters can input their address and last name, and the site will provide the name and address of the appropriate polling place, along with a map.
