2019 Street Resurfacing Program: plans are underway

LANSING, Ill. (April 2, 2019) – At the March 19 Village Board meeting, Trustee Mike Skrbina reported on plans for Lansing’s 2019 Street Resurfacing Program. The following streets made the list for resurfacing this year:

  1. Adams Street from Burnham Avenue to Henry St.
  2. 181st Street from School Street to Park Avenue
  3. 182nd Place from Oak Street to Greenbay Avenue
  4. Greenbay Avenue from Illinois Street to Ann Street
  5. Illinois Street from Greenbay Avenue to Burnham Avenue
  6. Ada Street from Ann Street to N. Schultz Drive
  7. Sherman Street from S. Schultz Drive to 186th Street
  8. Otto Street from Walter Street to Henry Street
  9. Oakwood Avenue from ComEd Road to 192nd Street
  10. 191st Street from Burnham Avenue to Grant Street
  11. Wildwood Avenue from 193rd Place to Glenwood-Lansing Road

The Board also approved Trustee Skrbina’s motion to authorize the advertising for bids for the 2019 Street Resurfacing Program.

  2. You got to be kidding. You forgot 17200-17300 block of Community? It’s hands down the worst road in Lansing. A lot of elderly folks live on that stretch. Isn’t that on your list of needing immediate attention. Shame on you!!!

    I was told $1 million was allocated
    This is why I didn’t vote. We are behind 20 years in getting our roads fixed and it’s not getting done. The street I live on has some very nice homes but our street looks like crap
    If you have to raise property taxes to get it done then do it!!!

  4. Take a look at the 2900 block of 193rd Street in Oakwood Estates. You can’t even dodge the potholes because you’ll hit a parked car. It’s embarrassing.
