School District 158 honors Judy Meyer for 50 years of service

LANSING, Ill. (April 16, 2019) – Last week Oak Glen teacher and volunteer Judy Meyer celebrated 50 years of service to Lansing School District 158. A surprise party on Wednesday, April 11, was attended by students, school board members, administrators, friends, village officials, and current and retired teachers.

First-grade students read a poem they created in tribute to Ms. Meyer and designed a “Thumbs Up” bulletin board stating why she is important to them.

Ms. Meyer taught fourth grade at Oak Glen from 1969 to 2002. She spent the next 17 years consulting and working with first and second graders.
