Obituary: Stanley Wohadlo Jr.

Stanley Wohadlo Jr, age 70 of Lansing, IL, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2019.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 ½ years: Judy (nee Goedde); four children: Janine (Jacob) Crum, Emily (Eric) Verbeek, Shelly (Ryan) Whitsitt, and Patrick (Regina) Wohadlo; three grandchildren: Harlan and Bennett Verbeek and Josephine Whitsitt, and a fourth grandchild (baby Whitsitt) to join the family soon. Also surviving is his sister: Sally (Stan) Pagorek; two brothers: Mary (Trish), Ron (Jan); numerous nieces and nephews; and three brothers-in-law: Mike (MaryAnn Goedde, Steve (Linda) Goedde, and Bob (Debbie) Goedde. Stan was preceded in death by his parents: Stanley Sr. and Bernice Wohadlo.

Friends are invited to visit with Stan’s family on Tuesday, April 30 from 3:00 – 8:00 PM at the Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Rd., Lansing, IL. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 1, at St. Ann Catholic Church, 3010 Ridge Rd., Lansing, IL. There will be a short visitation from 9:00 – 10:00 AM in the Day Chapel at St. Ann, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM. Stan will be laid to rest in Holy Cross Cemetery in Calumet City, IL. In lieu flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society and St. Ann Catholic Church.

Stan was a proud American. He was a chemical engineer and worked in research development – gas technology. He was a member of St. Ann Church, where he served as an usher and was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Society. He was also a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a Southside Chicago sports fan and enjoyed walking. But most of all he loved to travel and take vacations with his family. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and he will be missed.
