Three IHSA fishing tournaments rescheduled due to weather

COOK COUNTY, Ill (May 1, 2019) – The Forest Preserves of Cook County is hosting three Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Bass Fishing Sectional tournaments, and students will be fishing for a chance to compete at the State tournament May 18-19 at Carlyle Lake in Carlyle, Ill.

Two tournaments will be hosted at Busse Reservoir (Main and South pools), and one tournament will take place at Skokie Lagoons. Eleven local high schools with approximately 22 boats are participating at the Busse Reservoir Main Pool event; twelve local high schools with approximately 24 boats will be participating at Busse Reservoir South Pool event; and 14 high schools with approximately 28 boats will be fishing at the Skokie Lagoons event. All events begin at approximately 8:00am.

The boat ramps and parking areas adjacent to the boat ramps will be closed to public not affiliated with participating schools during the tournaments. Final weigh-ins begin at approximately 3 pm, weather dependent.
