“2–3 more weeks,” says Lynwood Police Chief

LANSING, Ill. (May 2, 2019) – On Tuesday, April 30, the Lynwood Police Chief shared with Lansing Village officials that Burnham Avenue will be closed for 2–3 more weeks. No reason was given, and no details were provided.

The project, which began on April 1, involves repairs to the culverts. Burnham is closed at 202nd Street, and Torrence Avenue is the only alternate route. Torrence Avenue is also scheduled for construction this month.

Closing Burnham at 202nd Street blocks direct access to all of Lynwood south and east of 202nd, as well as Alpine, Paradise, and Lynway trailer parks. Direct access to Franciscan St. Margaret Hospital in Dyer, Indiana, is also blocked.
