Harvey Terpstra, age 88, of Lansing, IL, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, May 10, 2019.
Beloved husband of the late LaVergne Terpstra, nee Westerhoff. Loving father of Barbara Terpstra, Russell (Karen) Terpstra, and Janet (Jim) Bosma. Proud grandfather of Amanda (James) Kooienga, Michael (Amy) Terpstra, David (Lynnae) Terpstra, Phillip Terpstra, and Katherine Bosma; and great-grandfather of Leah, Charlotte, and Emma Kooienga, and Travis Harvey Terpstra. Dear brother of Alice (late Gordon) Otter, Esther Rayburn, Carol (Dick) Jones, Ahleen (late Dave) Hofstra, and Shirley (Jim) Davidson. Preceded in death by his parents Cornelius and Jeannette (nee de Waal Malefyt) Terpstra.
Visitation Monday, May 13, 2019 from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home – 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane, Dyer, IN. Funeral service Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Oak Glen United Reformed Church – 2244 Indiana Ave. Lansing, IL, with Rev. Ed Marcusse officiating. Interment at Oak Ridge Cemetery – Lansing, IL.

Harvey was a U.S. Marine Veteran, a carpenter by trade, and a member of Oak Glen United Reformed Church. He was loved by many and will be missed.
