CHICAGO HEIGHTS, Ill. (July 10, 2019) – Marian Catholic High School’s Sister Mary Jo Sobieck has a chance to win a 2019 ESPY Award for “Best Viral Sports Moment.” The former coach and current Theology teacher became an internet sensation last year when she threw out the first pitch at an August White Sox game.
Marian Catholic gave her a send-off yesterday morning as she headed to Los Angeles to attend the Espy Awards ceremony. She will find out tonight if she wins.
