HAMMOND, Ind. (August 15, 2019) – This year, the Honorable Jerome Prince—Lake County Assessor and the first African-American county assessor in Indiana—will be the featured guest of the NAACP Hammond, Indiana, Branch 2019 Freedom Fund Luncheon. The luncheon is scheduled for Saturday, September 14, 2019, from 12:00–3:00pm at the Dynasty Banquet Hall, 4141 Calumet Avenue in Hammond, Indiana.
The luncheon will celebrate the Hammond Branch NAACP’s new theme, When We Fight, We Win. The theme is designed to remind members of the victories that have shaped this country and democracy.
The Hammond Branch NAACP is a catalyst in promoting improvements to increase opportunity for all people, working with every community segment to remove barriers for a better quality of life.
Other community members and leaders will also be honored, including Jake Jacobs, owner of CR Publications, and the Ministerial Alliance of Hammond and Vicinity.
Entertainment will be provided by Lady Sax, Billy Shelton, and the Spaniels.
Tickets may be reserved for a $50 donation per person, and proceeds allow the branch to continue to advocate for civil rights in our community and provide scholarships for youth. Guests can also support the mission by becoming a Freedom Sponsor, purchasing an ad in the Program Ad Book, or becoming a Scholarship Sponsor.
