LANSING, Ill. (August 21, 2019) – “I’m a little nervous,” admits Martha Muñoz, who owns Taqueria La Soga with her husband Gilberto. The Mexican restaurant at 19267 Burnham Avenue was chosen by Radio La Que Buena (FM105.1) to host their popular radio show “El Primo Rafa” (“Cousin Rafa”) on Thursday, August 22. They were looking for Hispanic-owned establishments to partner with in giving away backpacks for schoolchildren. La Soga was chosen because of the high ratings and reviews they have received online.

The Muñoz family is not sure how many people to expect when the show begins at 6:00am. They will serve breakfast to anyone who shows up, and Radio La Que Buena is giving free breakfast tickets to the first 50 people. After that, for only $7.00, people can choose a breakfast of ham and eggs, country style eggs, or chorizo eggs to enjoy during the backpack giveaway. Though the dining area inside the establishment is small, Martha plans to arrange the food and tables to allow for efficient service.
