LANSING, Ill. (August 26, 2019) – Admission is free to the giant Tailgate Party the Village of Lansing is hosting at Fox Pointe on Thursday, September 5, though actual tailgaters will be assessed a $10 tailgating cover charge for use of one of the 50 spaces available in the parking lot of Clock Tower Plaza (just north of the post office on Roy Street). The 50 tailgaters will be allowed to bring their own coolers and propane grills—no charcoal will be allowed. Tailgating will be allowed from 4:00–7:00pm; after 7:00pm all food and beverages must be purchased inside the Fox Pointe venue.

For the non-tailgating crowd, concessions will open at 5:30pm, and multiple food vendors will be on hand, including JJ Kelley’s and Lynnie Ques.

Also at 5:30pm, a football skills competition for children age 6–12 will be conducted on the north side lawn, with prizes available to the winners. A video game truck will be available from 5:30–9:30pm, featuring Madden NFL 20 (to match the theme of the evening) as well as other games.

TF South High School and Highland High School’s varsity football teams will play each other on Friday, September 6, in Lansing, and both teams will attend the tailgating party. A 50/50 raffle will be conducted during the game, with half going to the winner and the other half being divided evenly between the two schools’ Booster Clubs.

The Fox Pointe Tailgate Party will begin at 5:30pm on September 5, with kickoff at 7:20pm. The game will be broadcast on a giant 20’ x 12’ video wall with additional screens set up throughout the venue.
