Governor Pritzker, Congresswoman Kelly, and Chicago Southland Convention & Visitors Bureau to present Annual Tourism Awards

Lansing to be included among award winners

OAK LAWN, Ill. (September 27, 2019) – “One Chicago Southland” is the theme of this year’s Annual Meeting & Awards Luncheon, hosted by the Chicago Southland Convention & Visitors Bureau. The 2019 event will feature U.S. Congresswoman Robin Kelly as the Keynote speaker, and guest speaker Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker will also be in attendance.

Since 1994, the Chicago Southland CVB has been celebrating extraordinary individuals in the hospitality industry with their Stars of the Industry Awards. In addition, their Annual Tourism Awards celebrate people who make a significant impact in the tourism industry.

Stars of the Industry Awards to be presented this year include:

  • 2019 Food & Beverage Employee of the Year
  • 2019 Guest Services Employee of the Year
  • 2019 Housekeeping Employee of the Year
  • 2019 Maintenance Employee of the Year
  • 2019 Manager of the Year

Annual Tourism Awards to be presented this year include:

  • Awards of Merit
  • Linda Morgan Award for Volunteerism
  • Patricia Chase Magon Municipal Leadership Award
  • Senator Aldo DeAngelis Leadership Award
  • Member of the Year

Winners this year include individuals from Alsip, Blue Island, Crestwood, Crete, Hazel Crest, Lansing, New Lenox, Oak Lawn, and Tinley Park.

The luncheon will take place on Wednesday, October 2, 11:30am–1:30pm at the Hilton Chicago/Oak Lawn & Conference Center, 9333 South Cicero Avenue, Oak Lawn, IL 60453.
