Property tax assessment appeal seminar to be held at Lansing Public Library

LANSING, Ill. (December 22, 2019) – Cook County Board of Review Commissioner Dan Patlak will be holding a property tax assessment appeal seminar at the Lansing Public Library for taxpayers seeking to appeal their 2019 property tax assessments. Thornton Township is open for appeal through January 8, 2020.

The seminar is hosted by Lansing Mayor Patty Eidam and sponsored by State Representative Marcus Evans, Jr. The hour-long session will educate taxpayers on how to file a successful tax appeal.

The seminar includes a presentation by Commissioner Dan Patlak explaining the appeal procedure at the Board of Review. Before the end of the evening, taxpayers will have an opportunity to work with staff from the Board of Review to address their specific questions and concerns.

This event is free to the public, and there is no fee to appeal at the Board of Review. Registration is not required.

The Lansing Public Library is located at 2750 Indiana Avenue in Lansing, Illinois.

Taxpayers may file an appeal online by visiting the Board of Review website: www.cookcountyboardofreview.com. Alternatively, appeal forms also may be picked up at the Board of Review located at 118 N. Clark Street-Room 601 in Chicago, local township offices, or printed out from the forms posted on the Board site.
