TINLEY PARK, Ill. (February 15, 2020) – Over $10,000 was recently donated to three local charities, thanks to the 2019 National Beard and Moustache Championships. The competition took place in Tinley Park on November 8 and 9, 2019.

“Together We Cope is thrilled that the National Beard and Moustache Championships chose our organization to benefit from their event,” said Mandi Williams, Marketing and Fundraising Manager for Together We Cope. “This donation will go towards helping women and families throughout the Chicago Southland region and provide them with invaluable resources.”

The donation for PAWS Tinley Park was accepted by Peggy Grimm, 1st Vice President. “We are pleased to accept this generous donation. Working with Beard Team USA and the entire crew behind the National Beard and Moustache Championships was an excellent experience. Their contribution to PAWS Tinley Park will greatly benefit the animals in our care,” Grimm said.

The 2019 National Beard and Moustache Championships came to Tinley Park in November 2019 and took place at 350 Brewing Company’s Insanity Factory. More than 300 competitors and spectators participated in the two-day event, traveling to the Chicago Southland from across the country and beyond.

Four Beard and Moustache competitors visited Lansing and shared some details about the unique competition.

“It was a pleasure to host the 2019 National Beard and Moustache Championships here in the Chicago Southland,” said Jim Garrett, President/CEO of the Chicago Southland Convention and Visitors Bureau. “This unique event not only brought visitors to our region, it also benefitted three excellent charities. We are so proud to have been a part of this incredible event.”
