The winner will have the opportunity to attend a ceremony this summer in Washington D.C., where his or her artwork will be displayed at the U.S. Capitol for one year. The artwork of second- and third-place winners will be displayed in Rep. Kelly’s district offices.

Students may submit their artwork from 9:00am–4:00pm at Congresswoman Kelly’s Matteson office (600 Holiday Plaza Drive, Suite 505) at her Chicago Office (1000 E. 111th Street, Suite 5N), or at her satellite office located on the lower level of Kankakee City Hall. Artwork must be two dimensional and framed no larger than 26” x 26” x 4”. Submissions can include paintings, drawings, collages, prints, photographs, computer-generated art, or mixed media. All artwork must be original.

Congresswoman Kelly will host a reception where she will announce the winner and runners-up on March 19 at Crete Creative Gallery and School, 1304 Main Street, Crete, Illinois.

The high school art competition was established by the U.S. House of Representatives in 1982 to acknowledge and support the artistic talent of America’s young adults.
