Thomas Edward Walsh, age 86 of Lansing, Illinois, formerly of Chicago, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 3, 2020.
He is survived by his loving daughters Cathleen Elaine Turnes and Sharon Amelia (Samuel) Trevino. Cherished grandfather of Samuel (Melissa) Trevino, Rachel (Vincent Petrozza) Trevino, Mitchell Trevino, Jacob (Cassandra Sotos) Turnes, Amy (Michael Pavinac) Walsh, and Catherine Walsh. Great grandfather of Vivian Amelia May Petrozza, Conner Landen Walsh-Abner, Ashtyn James Walsh, Audree Jo Walsh, Delilah Jo Hummel, Amelia Jean Pavinac, and Thomas Samuel Trevino. Thomas was preceded in death by his beloved wife Ruth (nee Nelson) Walsh, parents Martin and Esther (nee Jerabek) Walsh, son Thomas Martin Walsh, sisters Elaine (John) Nemcek and Francis (Bill) O’Neill, and brother Martin Walsh.
Funeral services and burial will be private. Thomas will be laid to rest at Assumption Cemetery, Glenwood, Illinois.
Thomas was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, son, uncle, and friend. He was a devoted and generous family man, and a proud Veteran of the United States Army. Tom enjoyed motorcycles, fishing, and marksmanship. He was a proud member of the NRA. He had a wealth of knowledge and never missed a teachable moment. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was the master of practical jokes. He gave selflessly to his family and provided endless love and support. He will be truly missed and remembered always.
