COVID-19 counts for May 26, 2020

LANSING, Ill. (May 26, 2020) – The Lansing Journal receives daily news releases from various sources regarding the impacts of COVID-19 on our community, state, and region. Statistics from those sources are compiled below.

Lansing

  • Cumulative cases since 3/16/20: 328 (yesterday: 325)
  • Cumulative deaths since 3/16/20: 4 (yesterday: 4)
  • Case rate: 1,158 per 100,000 people

Illinois

  • New cases today: 1,178 (yesterday: 1,713)
  • New deaths today: 39 (yesterday: 31)
  • Total cases: 113,195
  • Total deaths: 4,923

IPDH also notes, “Since this crisis began, there have been 22 positive staff and 47 positive residents at the Illinois Veterans’ Home at Manteno. Sadly, ten of those who tested positive for COVID-19 have passed away. The Veterans’ home in Anna has seen five residents test positive, one resident in LaSalle, and no positive cases at the Veterans’ Home in Quincy.”

Indiana

  • New cases today: 373 (yesterday: 354)
  • New deaths today: 18 (yesterday: 8)
  • Total cases: 32,078
  • Total deaths: 1,850
