LANSING, Ill. (June 21, 2020) – Village officials released a brief statement confirming that Michael Manno, currently serving as Trustee, passed away Sunday evening at Munster Community Hospital after suffering a heart attack.

Manno lived in Lansing for almost 60 years and served the community as a member of the Lansing Police Department, a Village Trustee, a member of the District 171 School Board, and in a wide variety of other volunteer roles.

  1. This man made me wash cop cars, he lectured me on smoking and drug use, he cared more than any officer I have ever known, the world has lost a true friend.

    He was the most dedicated, compassionate, inspirational person we have ever had the honor of knowing. He made us laugh, smile and volunteer!

  5. I remember him well, as I was born and raised in Lansing for 21 years. He was the kindest, sweetest man, and an incredible role model. The Police, the town of Lansing and the community lost a good one. Condolences to Officer Manno’s family.

  8. A Very Passionate Man! He sincerely cared about the future of our children and this community! He was a fair and just man who had the respect of this family.
    I am so very thankful for the program D.A.R.E, that he was so involved in. I believe it made a huge difference to our young people!
