Tony Lee Mosley, age 69 of Lansing, IL, passed away suddenly on Friday, July 17, 2020. He is survived by his wife: Jacqueline (Jackie) (nee Kline); sons: Thomas Mosley and Jonathan (Kristian) Mosley; grandchildren: Alexandria, Andrew, Anthony, Victoria, Morgan, Elizabeth, and McKenzie; and his foster mother: Wanda Smith. Also surviving are his siblings: Joyce Mosley, Ronnie Mosley, Connie (Tim) Grawe, Helen (Danny) Nolte, and Mark Mosley; foster siblings: Earl Smith and Matthew (Megan) Smith; nieces, nephews, sister-in-law, and brother-in-law. Tony was preceded in death by his biological parents: Gladys and William Mosley; foster father; three brothers and two sisters.
Friends are invited to visit with Tony’s family on Sunday, July 26, 2020 from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM at the Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Rd., Lansing, IL. The funeral service will begin at 4:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Tony’s name to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2505 Indiana Ave., Lansing, IL. Due to the current health environment, masks and hand sanitizer will be available at the funeral home for those who would like to use them.
Tony graduated from High School in 1970 and then honorably served our country from 1970 to 1994 in the United States Air Force, being deployed to both Vietnam and Operation Desert Shield/Storm. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked as a mechanic for the Union Pacific Railroad from January 1995 to May 2019.
Tony loved playing jokes on everybody, and was the life of the party. He told stories about his military time, loved playing games with family and friends, and enjoyed riding anything with an engine. He took motorcycle trips across the states. He enjoyed working in the yard and planting flowers. He was the Handyman of the family and neighborhood. He loved his dog, Smitty.
More than anything, Tony was very supportive of both family and friends, and loved spending time with them. But his grandchildren were his pride and joy. He thoroughly enjoyed taking family vacations. Tony was very loved and will be missed by his family and many friends.
