SOUTH HOLLAND, Ill. (July 26, 2020) – The Business & Career Institute (BCI) of South Suburban College has scheduled a webinar entitled Opportunities & Pitfalls to Starting a Business during the Pandemic. The webinar will feature local expert Tom Byelick along with an additional contribution by local business owner and Chamber Director Amy Todd.
The 75-minute open forum will be hosted online on Wednesday, August 5, from 12:00–1:15pm. It is designed to help potential entrepreneurs determine whether now is the right time to proceed. Byelick will provide a snapshot of the current employment scene and prospects for a start-up business, with discussion around the pros and cons of starting a business in difficult economic times.
Byelick is the owner of three small businesses: Ingenuity Small Business Collaborative, a consulting firm; Tomfoolery Fun Club, a comedy-based variety series; and Pretty Amazing!, which specializes in restoring and revitalizing driveways, patios, porches, and decks.
Todd is the Director of the Lansing Area Chamber of Commerce and owner of Mancino’s Pizza & Grinders (3300 Ridge Road in Lansing). She and her family are also in the process of opening a wine bar in Lansing, The Pour on Roy (18155 Roy Street).

(formerly in Lansing for 50+ years and now in Dyer, IN) I am teaching a new class this year called The Principles of Business Management, and it has a unit on entrepreneurship.
