Obituary: Ronald C. Mulder

November 25, 1927 – September 16, 2020

Ronald C. Mulder, age 92, late of Crete, formerly a longtime resident of Lansing, IL, passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 16, 2020. Beloved husband of 32 years, to Shirley J. Mulder, nee Dwyer. Devoted dad of Linda (Tom) Rozenich, Glen (Roberta) Mulder, Rhonda Hesselink, and the late Paula Wityaz. Proud grandpa of Steven, Shawnna, Jessica, Eric, Ashley, Nicole, Kevin, and the late Tommy and Justin; great-grandpa of Brady, Joey, Tommy, Samantha, Evelyn, Elaine, Olivia, and McKenzie. Kind uncle and great-uncle of many nieces and nephews. Dear brother of the late Dorothy Bovenkerk, Evelyn Steginga, Genevieve Sheehan, and Elmer Mulder. Preceded in death by his late wife Elaine J. Mulder, nee Haan, and parents Charles and Elsie Mulder.

Visitation Sunday, September 20, 2020 from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. Funeral service Monday, September 21, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at Smits, DeYoung-Vroegh Funeral Home, 649 E. 162nd St. (Rt.6/159th St.) South Holland, IL, with Rev. Mark Prestriedge officiating. Interment Oak Ridge Cemetery – Lansing, IL.

Ron proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII; after his honorable discharge he studied at Worsham College of Mortuary Science, and spent his life serving families. Ron was also the co-owner of Milton Bos Funeral Home in Chicago and Dolton/South Holland, IL, for many years. He was a member of Crete Church in Crete, IL. He was loved and will be missed.
