A lifelong resident of Lansing, Tom Vierk spent his life caring for others and keeping all around him smiling. Tom graduated in 1959 with a B.A. in Marketing from University of Illinois. After serving honorably as a marine in Korea, he spent a year traveling the United States doing odd jobs, sleeping in his wood paneled station wagon, and meeting people from across the country. He returned to Lansing to take the helm, alongside his brother Vern, of Vierk’s Furniture which his father founded. Over the last 25 years, you could find Tom at Lynwood Lanes where anyone looking for a lane, a coffee, or advice could find him. He was also very devoted to the Lansing Country Club and spent many hours trying to improve his golf game and enjoying the 19th hole. His favorite spot has always been on a lake with his family from Koontz Lake with his children to Fish Lake with his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by so many but all who loved him are better for being a part of his humor and having him in their lives.

In lieu of flowers family suggests donations be made to the Tom Vierk Memorial Fund for Disabled Veterans. https://www.gofundme.com/f/tom-vierk-memorial-fund-for-disabled-veterans.
