LANSING, Ill. (October 12, 2020) – Mexico en el Corazón, the singing and dancing performance that has come to Lansing for the past three years, used virtual means this year to bring its traditional Mexican ballads and dances to audiences around the world.

Although surely a let-down for many who looked forward to the energetic celebration of Mexican culture—which for the last two years has occurred at T.F. South High School, the virtual performance, which debuted on Saturday, Oct. 9 at 8 p.m., is now available on Mexico en el Corazón’s Facebook page and can be viewed at no cost. The event was altered due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Last year, Mexico en el Corazón travelled to 17 locations across the United States, including Lansing.

According to the event’s Facebook page, this year’s performance featured performances from Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán, Ballet Folclórico Guadalajara, Ballet Folklórico de la Universidad de Colima, Mariachi Juvenil Colotlán, and Banda Colores.

The virtual event can be viewed at Mexico en el Corazón’s Facebook page. A few screenshots of the virtual event are included below:
