Diana Jackson of Cal City accepts appointment to D215 Board

Replaces resigned Board member Roger Yochem

CALUMET CITY, Ill. (November 18, 2020) – At a special meeting on November 18, Thornton Fractional High School District 215 Board of Education voted unanimously to appoint Diana Jackson of Calumet City to the Board of Education, replacing former Board member Roger Yochem, who resigned from the Board of Education in September due to relocation out of the district.

Jackson was born and raised in Calumet City and graduated from TF North High School in 2002, where her daughter is currently a student.

Jackson holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Accounting from University of Illinois-Chicago and a Master’s of Business Administration from National Louis University. She has owned and operated an accountant consulting service since 2007 and has worked in accounting for various companies in both the public and private sector, including numerous nonprofit organizations over the past 18 years. Jackson is a current and active member of the National Association of Black Accountants.

Jackson is also a member of D.R.E.A.M., (Developing Responsible Economically Advanced Model-Citizens), which is a financial education and advocacy 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to empowering underrepresented urban youth by equipping them with essential knowledge for life’s challenging financial decisions.

Jackson stated, “The success of our students and staff will be my highest priority as a board member. I am looking forward to working with fellow Board members, staff and the parents of District 215 to help our district succeed and maintain financial stability.”

District 215 Board president Michael Bolz noted, “I am pleased to welcome Ms. Jackson to the Board of Education and excited to work with her. As an alumna of District 215, current parent, and accountant, she brings important knowledge and expertise that will benefit our students, staff, and communities.”
