December print issue summarizes local impacts of a strange and difficult year
by Melanie Jongsma, Managing Editor
LANSING, Ill. (December 28, 2020) – Right now, 2020 might not be a year you want to remember, but someday you may need proof of all the things that happened in a single year! In our community we saw creative ways of doing church and school, neighbors checking on each other, businesses closing and new businesses opening, civilized protests in Lansing and South Holland, exorbitant tax spikes, changes in leadership, and so much other important news.
Those events have been documented by our hardworking, deep-diving journalists, and you can access them on our website anytime.
If you want a printed copy for your personal archives, we can provide that as well, while we still have some available.
Most Lansing residents received a printed copy of The Lansing Journal in early December, hand delivered to their porches the week after Thanksgiving. But maybe you didn’t keep yours. Or maybe you want some extras to give to your kids or grandkids. Or maybe you don’t live in Lansing, so you didn’t receive the December issue when it was first delivered.
We’ll be happy to provide souvenir copies while supplies last. Send us your name and address, and let us know how many you need. In fact, email me personally to do this.
We need your help to cover the cost of our reporting, publishing, printing, and distribution of this issue. Your financial support will help ensure our quality community coverage continues in 2021 and beyond.
So—
1. Email me to request souvenir copies of “2020: What Happened” (while supplies last):
2. Include a gift to help support community news:
Become a monthly supporter
Or make a one-time gift (anything helps)
Or mail a check to The Lansing Journal, PO Box 742, Lansing IL 60438
We look forward to continuing to serve our community no matter what 2021 brings. Thank you for making that possible!
