Thank you for a solid start

189 of you started 2021 with an investment in community news

by Melanie Jongsma, Publisher

LANSING, Ill. (February 1, 2021) – “I contributed because I understand your commitment to your community by publishing an excellent community information medium,” read the email I received on January 16.

“Having The Lansing Journal as my local news is important to me,” said a January 10 message.

“The Lansing Journal is part of my morning news I read each day, even though I’m no longer living in Lansing,” a handwritten note explained on January 23.

I hold on to these messages—and all the notes I receive. They express the reasons we started 2021 with plans to keep growing this newspaper. We want to keep reaching our current readers with useful information. We want to reach even more readers, in our own town and the surrounding region. And we want to provide more original in-depth articles for all of you.

Supporting the journalism

You want that too. That’s what you were giving to this month. You give to The Lansing Journal because you know every dollar supports the journalism—paying our freelancers, publishing their stories, and delivering those stories to readers every day.

Thank you for sharing our vision to provide balanced, trustworthy, local news in a way that builds community. Thank you for giving to make it happen. And thank you for starting 2021 with a solid foundation we can build on together.
thank you
