Thornton Township offers assistance for vaccine registration

By Ernst Lamothe

SOUTH HOLLAND, Ill. (February 16, 2021) – The Village of South Holland and Thornton Township are partnering to help local residents register for the COVID-19 vaccine. This is for individuals who do not have access to a computer or the Internet, and are in need of a way to register. It does not ensure that a registrant will get a better appointment time than those who sign up from home; it is simply a service to assist those without access to online registration.

vaccineRegistration assistance runs from 8:00 a.m. to noon Monday through Thursday from February 16-24 at the South Holland Community Center, located at 501 E 170th Street in South Holland. No appointment is needed.

Participants must be 65 years or older, or be a frontline essential worker eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine in Phase 1B. Participants must bring ID and wear a mask. Social distancing methods will be in place.

The Village of South Holland communications office has set up a phone hotline giving the above information for those who may have questions. The hotline number is (708) 362-5403.

PLEASE NOTE:

  1. The township will NOT be administering the vaccine, simply assisting with vaccine registration.
  2. The South Holland Community Center remains closed to the public. Only those coming for vaccine registration will be permitted to enter.

The South Holland Community Center is located at 501 E 170th Street, South Holland, IL
