Information provided by Illiana Christian High School

DYER, Ind. (August 17, 2022) – Illiana Christian High School has announced its first mascot in its 77-year history. “Victor The Viking” is a professionally crafted mascot costume that will be worn during the school year by a team of students that has yet to be selected. While Illiana Christian High School has been known as the “Vikings” since the 1950s, the school never had an official, costumed mascot until now.

Victor was unveiled at freshman and new student night on Monday evening and welcomed students back for the first day of school on Wednesday, August 17. The mascot was the idea of Athletic Director Darren DeBoer who sees Victor as an opportunity to increase school spirit and add an element of fun at sporting events and various school activities.

“Remember, you can’t spell V-I-C-T-O-R-Y without Victor!” said the school.

Illiana Christian High School is a private, Christian high school located at 10920 Calumet Avenue, Dyer, Indiana with a total attendance of approximately 502.
